Macnaught MX ExD Simple Safe Flow Meters were designed, certified and approved for most fluid Hazard Zone Atmospheres. Macnaught Hazard Meters are for clean process fluids and do not measure gases of fluids with solids. Clean Process Liquids only. The MX Hazard Meter offering provides inline .5% Volumetric Accuracy with .03% Repeatability.

Hazard Zone / Class FAQ

Q: Can I use a piece of equipment approved for use in a Division 1 hazardous location in a Division 2 hazardous location? A: Yes. If equipment has been approved for use in a Division 1 hazardous location, it can be used in a Division 2 hazardous location, providing it is in the same class and group. Q: Can equipment approved for a Class I hazardous location be used in a Class II hazardous location? A: No. Equipment approved for use in Class I hazardous locations cannot be used in Class II hazardous locations. Q: Are Divisions and Zones equivalent to one another? A: When comparing Divisions and Zones, Division 2 is equivalent to Zone 2, but Division 1 is equivalent to either Zone 0 or 1

Macnaught MX Meters outfitted with Simple Apparatus PCB Intrinsically Safe Flow Meters and Displays meet all major Global Ex ia

The Simple Safe PCB module is designed according to IEC 60079-0:2018 and IEC 60079-11:2012. It is completely passive, adds no energy to the circuits connected, and complies with the applicable clauses for Simple Apparatus (per IEC 60079-11) when used in conjunction with the Intrinsically Safe display. Both reed switch input circuits of the MX1R-IS module, are suitable for use as simple apparatus in type of protection intrinsic safety Ex ia IIC.

Our Simple Safe Offering comes in three levels of performance:

Fx = Meter with Integral Mount Display, no outputs: No Power Required. This model is stocked in Ontario. The unit requires no Power and will show Rate and Total with a Resettable Totalizer and a Non-Resettable totalizer.

Entity Parameters to size Barrier should the Display need optional 16-30VDC Power: Uo Max 30VDC, Io Max 200mA, Po Max 1.2W

Gx = Meter with Integral Mount Display with (1) 4-20mA and (1) Pules Output – available contact Macnaught USA
